Vendler, Helen

(1933, Boston, Massachussets) Profesora emérita de la Universidad Arthur Kingsley Porter, donde se doctoró en literatura inglesa y norteamericana, tras licenciarse en Química en el Emmanuel College, ha escrito libros sobre Yeats, Herbert, Stevens, Shakespeare, Seamus Heaney y Emily Dickinson. Entre sus obras destacan «The Ocean, The Bird, and the Scholar: Essays on Poets and Poetry», «Dickinson: Selected Poems and Commentaries», Last Looks, Last Books: Stevens, Plath, Lowell, Bishop, Merrill» y «Our Secret Discipline: Yeats and Lyric Form». Es crítica de poesía en revistas como «The New York Review of Books», «The New York Times Book Review» y «The New Republic».
